On Wednesday September 18, 11 Iranian prisoners of conscience, including human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh were released. Such a relief!
Now we hear a shocking news!
NIAC writes: "Just as positive signals are being sent between Presidents Obama and Rouhani, Representative Trent Franks (R-AZ) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) have announced that they are introducing legislation to authorize war on Iran!
Franks is the chair of the Republican Study Committee’s National Security Working Group and the Congressional Israel Allies Caucus, and a major backer of the Mujahedin-e Khalq. Graham is also an influential Senator who is hell-bent on war with Iran.
We must stop this war bill right now.
Capitol Hill heard loud and clear that Americans did not want war with Syria, and that bill was blocked. Now we need to block war with Iran. If Graham and Franks succeed, the positive steps we have seen recently, highlighted by the release of Nasrin Sotoudeh and other political prisoners, will halt. The letters that Obama and Rouhani have exchanged will mean nothing. The situation inside of Iran that has been slowly improving will once again deteriorate as preparations are made for war."
